Maria Guzmán, a notable figure in the Manassas community, has been honored with the title of TD Bank’s Woman of the Year 2025. This recognition highlights her influence as a civic leader, small business owner, and cultural advocate whose work has directly impacted the diversity and heart of the City of Manassas.
Known by many as a long-time vendor at the Historic Manassas Farmers Market, Guzmán has managed to build a loyal clientele thanks to her commitment to community connection, hospitality, and creativity.
Cultural and Entrepreneurial Promotion
One of María Guzmán’s most significant contributions is the founding of LAREXPO (Latin American Artisans and Entrepreneurs Exhibition). This platform is dedicated to empowering artisans from across Latin America, serving as a meeting point for mentorship, collaboration, and the dissemination of Latin American cultural treasures. Guzmán’s initiative seeks to connect these ancestral traditions with a global market, strongly advocating for access to opportunities for young entrepreneurs to exhibit products that represent their countries of origin.
In addition to her entrepreneurial work and her efforts with LAREXPO, María Guzmán demonstrates active civic commitment. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Historic Manassas Inc. and was the organizer of the inaugural event “Mosaic at the Manassas Museum,” a key initiative to highlight the region’s rich Latin American heritage.
Guzmán’s leadership has been a crucial factor in increasing the cultural and civic vitality of Manassas, helping to forge a sense of belonging that constantly attracts both residents and visitors.
